Iranian football stars raise money for Kermanshah quake victims

Ex-Iranian football stars played a charity match on Thursday in Sarpol-e Zahab in Iran's western Kermanshah province, to raise money for victims of the last month’s earthquake.

The 7.3-magnitude earthquake killed about 600 people and injured another 7,460. A further 70,000 are reported to be homeless.

It was the deadliest quake so far in 2017.

Iranian stars like Ali Karimi, Khodadad Azizi, Parviz Boroumand, Ebrahim Mirzapour, Mehrdad Minavand, Javad Kazemian, Hossein Kazemi and Sohrab Bakhtiarizadeh played a match with team from Kermanshah retired football players and won the match 4-2.

Thousands of fans turned out for charity football match to raise money for the quake victims.

The match was officiated by Alireza Faghani.
